Association of Pharmacy
Technicians UK (APTUK)
The Professional Leadership Body for Pharmacy Technicians
Mary qualified as a pharmacy technician in secondary care in Gloucester in 1989 and after several years there in a rotational role she specialised to lead in Medicines Management services in 1999 at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. She took up a specialised role as an anticoagulation practitioner in 2004 and continues to work in a busy anticoagulant clinic in Bristol. She has also worked as a prescribing support technician in primary care. Since 2014 she has had a role in supporting and developing post registration pharmacy technician training at South West Medicines Information and Training (SWMIT) and in 2016 was involved in the launch of a new Medicines Optimisation Training Programme.
Her diverse roles provide her with an all-round perspective to pharmacy services and she is keen to motivate and inspire technicians to reach their full potential whatever their scope of practice.
Mary is delighted to be part of the APTUK Board of Officers and welcomes the opportunity to support the APTUK and its members
