DESCRIPTION:The APTUK Members Business Meeting, Conference and Awards Ceremony\n\nAPTUK held the Membership Business Meeting, followed by our Annual Conference and Awards Ceremony to celebrate our 70th anniversary on Saturday 9th April 2022 at the Birmingham Conference and Events Centre (BCEC).\n\nThere were 3 events on offer that could be attended individually, or together. In recognition that these events fell during Ramadhan, we planned the programme to observe fasting and provided prayer space.\n\nMembership Business Meeting\n\nThe APTUK Member Business Meeting was a free event, open to all full and paid-up subscription members and Fellows. There was the option of attending virtually via Zoom, or in person at the BCEC. All members were required to register in advance, via an online booking system and provide proof of current membership by stating their membership number. \n\nThe purpose of the membership business meeting was:\n\nTo inform and consider the accounts and reports of the Board of Directors and Executive CommitteeTo respond to questions submitted virtually and from attendeesTo formally handover the President chain of office and welcome the new PresidentOur 2021/22 Annual report was circulated in advance to enable members to propose any questions. For any members who were unable to attend the event, a recording of the meeting and associated slides can be accessed below.\n\nMeeting recording\n\n\n\nMeeting Presentation\n\n\n\nAPTUK Celebration Conference and Awards Ceremony \n\nIn celebration of our 70th anniversary, we also hosted the APTUK Conference and Awards Dinner: Pharmacy Technicians – Delivering a platinum service for patients and communities.    \n\nThroughout the afternoon we considered the future for pharmacy technicians, looking in more detail at the different roles and services we deliver across the profession. We also considered innovation over the next 70 years and heard from a variety of speakers on their perspectives for the future. \n\nClick here to see the full programme\n\nIn the evening, the APTUK awards ceremony, dinner and disco provided a chance to network with fellow pharmacy technicians and celebrate successes. Winners of the prestigeous APTUK awards were announced, details of which can be found here: APTUK Pharmacy Technician Awards 2022\n\nClearly there are some real shining stars amongst us, and these awards provided the opportunity to celebrate successes. Thank you to the judges who took time to review the nominations and provide scores and comments against the nomination submission criteria.\n\nThe APTUK Branch of the Year Award, Fellowship and Honorary Membership Awards are judged internally by the Board of Directors or by a member of the Executive committee. All other awards are judged independently by an external judge, an honorary member, and one member of the executive committee. Scores are then added together and the nominee with the highest score is the winner. In the case of tied scores, two nominees are announced as joint winners.\n\nWe would also like to take the opportunity to say a huge thank you to all the sponsors, your willingness to support APTUK and these important awards is truly appreciated.\n\n \n\n
