Shape the future of the pharmacy technician profession in Scotland

We are seeking an enthusiastic, influential, and strategically minded Professional Lead for Scotland to provide professional leadership, represent the interests of pharmacy technicians, and help shape the future of the profession within Scotland. This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues across the UK, influence national policy, engage with members and stakeholders, and ensure the voice of Scottish pharmacy technicians is represented at both national and UK-wide levels.

About the Role

As Professional Lead for Scotland, you will lead on delivering APTUK's strategic objectives within Scotland while acting as the key link between the executive committee, members, and national stakeholders. You will use your knowledge of the Scottish healthcare landscape to identify emerging policy developments, workforce priorities, and opportunities that support the advancement of the pharmacy technician profession.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has an excellent understanding of the Scottish healthcare and pharmacy landscape.
  • Has experience of engaging with professional networks, stakeholders, or national initiatives.
  • Is an effective communicator with the ability to represent the profession credibly and professionally.
  • Can work collaboratively while also taking initiative and lead on key areas of work.

Growth and Public Relations Lead

  • Salary: £40,500 per annum
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week
  • Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm
  • Annual Leave: 20 days plus bank holidays

This newly created role offers the opportunity to shape our communications, drive membership growth, strengthen stakeholder relationships and enhance the visibility of pharmacy technicians across the UK. You'll work closely with senior leaders, industry partners and healthcare stakeholders to tell the APTUK story, champion our members and create meaningful engagement opportunities that strengthen our profession.

What you will be doing:

  • Driving APTUK's growth and engagement strategy
  • Developing impactful communications and public relations campaigns
  • Building relationships with key stakeholders and partners
  • Supporting membership recruitment, retention and engagement
  • Promoting national events, conferences and professional initiatives
  • Raising the profile of APTUK and the pharmacy technician profession

Governance and Compliance Lead

  • Salary: £24,300 per annum
  • Hours: 22.5 hours per week
  • Working Pattern: Days to be agreed, 8:30am to 5:00pm
  • Annual Leave: 20 days plus bank holidays (pro rata)

We are seeking a Governance and Compliance Lead to play a vital role in ensuring APTUK continues to operate with integrity, transparency and excellence. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating robust systems, ensuring compliance, supporting strategic decision-making and helping organisations achieve their ambitions through strong governance. You will work closely with the Executive Committee, Board of Directors and wider team to support effective governance arrangements as APTUK continues to grow and evolve.

What you will be doing:

  • Supporting Board and committee governance activity
  • Managing organisational policies and compliance frameworks
  • Coordinating assurance and risk management processes
  • Supporting organisational reporting and accountability
  • Ensuring governance systems remain effective and compliant
  • Contributing to continuous improvement across the organisation

We're looking for someone who:
