Director of Education

We are seeking an enthusiastic, influential, and strategically minded Director of Education to develop and implement an education strategy that reflects the requirements of the pharmacy technician profession.

About the role

This role provides a real opportunity to drive, inform and influence the national education agenda for pharmacy technicians. You will implement strategic plans and policies throughout the organisation, and act as a representative and ambassador to promote positive relationships and strong partnerships with stakeholders for the benefit of the APTUK and the wider pharmacy technician profession.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has an excellent understanding of the current pharmacy technician education landscape - standards, opportunities and challenges

• Has experience of engaging with professional networks, stakeholders, and national initiatives. 

• Is an effective communicator with the ability to represent the profession credibly and professionally. 

• Can work collaboratively while also taking initiative and lead on key areas of work.

Director of Professional Practice and Policy

We are seeking a motivated and forward-thinking Director of Professional Practice and Policy to provide strategic leadership in shaping professional standards, influencing policy and supporting the continued development of pharmacy technician practice across the UK.

Working closely with the President, Executive Committee, Board and external stakeholders, you will help ensure APTUK remains a credible and influential voice for the profession. You will lead the development of professional standards, policy statements, consultation responses and practice-related guidance, ensuring these reflect the needs of pharmacy technicians and the evolving healthcare landscape.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of APTUK, represent the profession and help shape the future of pharmacy technician practice.

Director of Corporate Services

Are you passionate about organisational leadership, good governance and building sustainable services that make a difference?

APTUK is seeking a proactive, organised and forward-thinking Director of Corporate Services to maintain strong organisational governance, support business operations, oversee policies and procedures, and ensure appropriate systems are in place to enable APTUK to achieve its ambitions for pharmacy technicians and the wider profession.

Working closely with the Executive Committee, Board, volunteers and external stakeholders, this role will enable APTUK to achieve its ambitions for pharmacy technicians and the wider profession through long-term sustainability.

About you

We are looking for someone who is committed to APTUK’s purpose and can bring strategic thinking, sound judgement and a collaborative approach to organisational leadership.

You will ideally have: 

• a proactive and flexible approach, with a willingness to contribute ideas and help develop practical solutions.

• experience of working within a voluntary, membership-based, charitable or professional organisation would be an advantage, as would direct experience of governance, risk management, finance, compliance or organisational development.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, influential, and strategically minded Professional Lead for Scotland to provide professional leadership, represent the interests of pharmacy technicians, and help shape the future of the profession within Scotland. This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues across the UK, influence national policy, engage with members and stakeholders, and ensure the voice of Scottish pharmacy technicians is represented at both national and UK-wide levels.

About the Role

As Professional Lead for Scotland, you will lead on delivering APTUK's strategic objectives within Scotland while acting as the key link between the executive committee, members, and national stakeholders. You will use your knowledge of the Scottish healthcare landscape to identify emerging policy developments, workforce priorities, and opportunities that support the advancement of the pharmacy technician profession.

• Salary: £40,500 per annum
• Hours: 37.5 hours per week
• Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm
• Annual Leave: 20 days plus bank holidays

This newly created role offers the opportunity to shape our communications, drive membership growth, strengthen stakeholder relationships and enhance the visibility of pharmacy technicians across the UK. You'll work closely with senior leaders, industry partners and healthcare stakeholders to tell the APTUK story, champion our members and create meaningful engagement opportunities that strengthen our profession.

Governance and Compliance Lead

• Salary: £24,300 per annum
• Hours: 22.5 hours per week
• Working Pattern: Days to be agreed, 8:30am to 5:00pm
• Annual Leave: 20 days plus bank holidays (pro rata)

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating robust systems, ensuring compliance, supporting strategic decision-making and helping organisations achieve their ambitions through strong governance. You will work closely with the Executive Committee, Board of Directors and wider team to support effective governance arrangements as APTUK continues to grow and evolve.

• Supporting Board and committee governance activity

• Coordinating assurance and risk management processes
• Supporting organisational reporting and accountability
• Ensuring governance systems remain effective and compliant
