An online member event in support of mental health awareness week. Tue, 10 May 2022, 19:30 – 20:30
Mental Health awareness week runs from 9-15th May. It is an annual event when there is an opportunity for the whole of the UK to focus on achieving good mental health. The Mental Health Foundation started the event 21 years ago and have set this year’s theme as loneliness.
Why loneliness?
Loneliness is affecting more and more of us in the UK and has had a huge impact on our physical and mental health during the pandemic. Our connection to other people and our community is fundamental to protecting our mental health and we need to find better ways of tackling the epidemic of loneliness. Reducing loneliness is a major step towards a mentally healthy society.
In support of mental health awareness week, on Tuesday 10th May at 19:30, APTUK are hosting a member online event: Chipper Chatter - Loneliness and you
The event will be made up of two halves, the opening half will be discussing the effects of loneliness on ourselves and those around us through the pandemic. In the second half of the event we will split into break out rooms each with a different theme offering activities or discussing resources available to support those suffering with loneliness.
If you would like to take part, either to share your own experiences or to just talk about loneliness to support a friend or colleague, please follow this link to book onto the event: chipper-chatter-loneliness-and-you-tickets
