Are you interested in joining an Expert Panel which aims to deliver unified practice across NHS aseptic facilities?
The NHS Hospital Pharmacy Modernisation Team are looking to recruit professionals, including pharmacy technicians, across a range of backgrounds to join the expert panel working group. The group will provide the governance and assurance for the product standardisation agenda, starting with standard product specifications and progressing to standardised contracting and practice development.
It will initially meet to agree terms of reference and establish a work pattern. Members will then review and comment on the specifications, prompting a review of the documents before they are published for a public consultation. Once the consultation ends and any final alterations have been made the members will review once more before the official publication of the specifications.
The initial phase is focusing on chemotherapy agents and they will be looking for clinical specialists in that area (pharmacist and nurse). These specialists will rotate in and out of the group as the project is expanded to cover other classes of medicines.
Once all existing products have been completed, the group will only need to meet and provide this function on an ad-hoc basis as new medicines are marketed and dose banding tables established.
