According to the report, the focus this year has been on providing continued support to pharmacy teams as they have continued to play a vital role in protecting the public against COVID-19, and ensuring safe and effective pharmacy care as set out in the Standards for pharmacy professionals and Standards for registered pharmacies. As an organisation, the GPhC has continued to act quickly to respond to developments, and to implement a flexible approach to improve the way they work and prepare for future changes and challenges. 

They have also kept moving ahead with delivering key priorities, including:

• continuing to deliver the strategic plan for 2020–25, which will help them work towards the ambitious ten-year Vision 2030
• working closely with education bodies, universities and employers to start to bring in changes to pharmacist education and training introduced by the new standards for the initial education and training of pharmacists 
• publishing and beginning to implement new strategies on managing concerns about pharmacy professionals and delivering equality, improving diversity and fostering inclusion.
