New forum launched in May 2023

A new Chief Pharmaceutical Officer’s Pharmacy Technician Professional Advisory Forum has been launched. This is chaired by Liz Fidler, Senior Professional Advisor Pharmacy Technician Practice, and the list of members can be seen here: Chief Pharmaceutical Officer's Advisory Board members
The forum will seek the expertise of experienced pharmacy technicians across all areas of practice to advise on the development of pharmacy technician professional practice in support of patient care and medicines optimisation. It will enable the NHS to directly engage with pharmacy technicians in leadership positions to seek opinion and build engagement, with the aim of becoming more inclusive of pharmacy technician expertise and opinion.
It will act in an advisory capacity utilising individual expertise and pharmacy technician professional views to inform the Chief Pharmaceutical Officer’s team and relevant NHS England policy teams on pharmacy technician professional practice covering education and training, professional standards, scope of practice and implementation.
